My background

So, you want to know a little about me, eh? Well, how can I convince you that I’m the real deal when it comes to authentic Italian Cooking? Well, let me start with my first love – FOOD! I love eating food; I love learning new things about food; and most of all, I love cooking food.

Growing up in an Italian home, we always had good, home-cooked meals on the table. It’s a fact that your mom is always your favourite chef, and no one can cook like your own mother. Well, all my friends used to prefer my mother’s cooking to their own!

And so I grew up developing a love of food, a love that I later followed in my Culinary Arts studies in Toronto. But after working a good 5 years in the Restaurant business, I decided it was time to get back to my Italian heritage. I took an extended holiday to that land where my ansestors had cooked before me, to research and teach myself all the best ways to cook real, Italian food.

When I returned to Oshawa, I knew I wanted to create a small catering business instead of going back to work in a restaurant. I wanted to cook wholesome Italian meals. I wanted to give the community an option for fresh, homemade food. I wanted to serve food that takes you back in time before microwaves and mass-produced chicken by-products, and to keep the traditions of my Italian heritage going strong in the years to come.

And so Sabrina’s Catering Company was born!
